Spirit of Life Church International was birthed in March 1995 under the direction of its Founder and Visionary, Bishop Antonio D. Thomas. He was a spirit-filled man with a love for God and His people. During the early years of Spirit of Life Church, God proved Himself to be faithful as the church grew steadily from its original inception. The influx of young people to the ministry brought about a need for a larger church facility. In December 1998, Spirit of Life Church purchased an entire shopping center, which is where the church is currently located.

Bishop Antonio D. Thomas went to be with the Lord in November 2004, leaving a great void in a powerful and life-changing ministry. However, God would show His continued faithfulness to Spirit of Life when Dr. David C. Forbes, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio (Columbus Christian Center Church) accepted the call to pastor Spirit of Life Church. In November 2008, Elder Barbara C. Thomas, widow of Bishop Antonio Thomas, was ordained as Assistant Pastor of Spirit of Life Church. She served in this capacity for approximately 3 years until God elevated her to the current position of Pastor of Spirit of Life in October 2011. She considers it a privilege to assist in carrying on her husband’s legacy. Pastor Thomas is sold out to doing the work of the ministry for the Glory of God and the edification of His people.
